Swimmer Rescued From San Francisco's China Beach

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Fire crews successfully rescued a swimmer in distress at a San Francisco beach Monday afternoon.

The incident occurred at China Beach in the area of the 800 block of El Camino Del Mar, San Francisco fire officials said on Twitter at 2:47 p.m.

The fire department deployed rescue swimmers and boats to the scene and were able to safely bring the man back to shore, according to fire officials.

He declined transport to a hospital after being evaluated by medics at the scene, fire officials said.
