Man Found Dead At UC Berkeley Frat House

BERKELEY (CBS SF) -- A 23-year-old man was found dead at a UC Berkeley frat house Saturday morning.

Police are calling the death "suspicious."

The man was discovered at 7:30 a.m. at the Pi Kappi Phi house in the 2900 block of Channing Way.

Paramedics were unable to revive him.

Campus police are being tight-lipped. It's not clear how the man died -- or if he was a UC student. This is the third death at a Berkeley fraternity house since last year.

"I find frats kind of scary in general", said UC student Camille. "But I think that it happens too often anyway… it's really sad with Christmas coming up."

According to statistics, 95% percent of all injuries and deaths at fraternities in the U.S. were alcohol or drug related.
