Suspects In Half Moon Bay Jewelry Store Robbery Arrested In Indiana

HALF MOON BAY (CBS SF) -- A traffic stop in Indiana led to the arrest of 2 men who allegedly robbed a jewelry store in Half Moon Bay.

Kevin Malone and Jebediah Deangelis were booked into an Indianapolis jail and are awaiting extradition to San Mateo County, according to authorities.

The pair are suspected in the February 3 robbery of the Goldworks jewelry store on Main Street.

San Mateo Police said 25-year-old Deangelis allegedly entered the store brandishing a gun, and began placing jewelry from behind the counter into a black bag. Shortly afterwards, Malone, 24, allegedly came in and noticed an employee press a panic button and alerted Deangelis. Both suspects fled.

The arrest happened Friday afternoon on Interstate 70 in Marion County, Indiana. Police stopped the suspects' car for vehicle code violations and found a weapon and other evidence allegedly linking them to the jewelry store robbery. The vehicle matched a description of the car used in the Feb. 3 robbery in Half Moon Bay.
