Suspected Fare Dodger Arrested After Scuffle With 2 BART Police Officers

PLEASANT HILL (CBS SF) -- A pair of BART police officers at the Pleasant Hill station suffered injuries on Tuesday after they tried to detain a fare dodger and a scuffle ensued, according to BART police.

At 3:06 p.m. Tuesday, two officers attempted to detain a man who allegedly evaded fares at BART's Pleasant Hill station and he resisted.

The struggle that followed left both officers with minor injuries, BART police officials said. The suspect refused medical attention at the scene.

The suspect was arrested on suspicion of resisting arrest and booked into Martinez Detention Facility.

No further details were immediately available.
