Suspected Concord Burglar Crashes Through Ceiling Into Arms Of Police

CONCORD (CBS SF) -- A man suspected of breaking into several Concord homes was arrested Tuesday morning after dropping from a home's attic through the ceiling into the waiting arms of officers.

Concord Police said residents of the Holbrook Heights neighborhood reported seeing a man breaking into several homes and fleeing to a vacant house.

Officers arrived at the home and tried to arrest the unidentified suspect, but he escaped to the attic and hid for more than an hour, according to a post on the Concord Police Facebook page.

The man eventually agreed to come out and punched his way through the ceiling, falling into the arms of officers who were waiting with handcuffs, according to the post.

The man was jailed on burglary and theft charges.
