Suspect Smashes Bottle Over Man's Head, Robs Him, Flees Into Waiting Car

FREMONT (CBS SF) -- Police were seeking the person who allegedly robbed and assaulted a victim as the victim walked along a Fremont street early Monday morning.

Around 3:30 a.m., a victim walked into the Fremont Police Department to report a robbery that had just occurred near Wolcott and Hancock drives, according to police.

The victim told police he was walking when the suspect allegedly hit him in the back of the head with a bottle, police said.

The suspect then took the man's belongings before getting into a waiting vehicle and fleeing, police said.

The victim described the suspect as a man, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall, with a medium build. The suspect also wore dark clothing, according to police.
