Suspect In Teen Girl Stalking Incident Arrested In Petaluma

PETALUMA (CBS SF) -- Officers Thursday arrested a man who is suspected of being connected to a stalking incident that took place on September 4, according to
Petaluma police.

Carlos Antonio Cruz, 27, of San Francisco, is suspected of approaching a 13-year-old girl in Petaluma on September 4th in a vehicle and persistently attempting to convince her to get into his car, Petaluma police Sgt. Ed Crosby said.

Petaluma Police Department received a tip Thursday that a vehicle matching the description of Cruz's car was seen in the 800 block of Grant Avenue.

After officers arranged for the 13-year-old victim to view the vehicle and its owner, Cruz was positively identified and arrested for stalking and harassing a child, Crosby said.

Cruz is being held on $100,000 bail at the Sonoma County Main Detention Facility, according to Crosby.
