Suspect In San Leandro I-880 Killing Turns Himself In

SAN LEANDRO (CBS/AP) -- A suspect in a fatal freeway shooting in San Leandro has turned himself in to police.

Police spokesman Lt. Robert McManus says the shooting happened at about 2 a.m. Saturday as California Highway Patrol officers were investigating a crash on Interstate 880.

Responding officers had heard gunshots nearby and rushed to the scene. They found 37-year-old Miguel Corrales-Rosales, who had been shot multiple times, in a car on the freeway shoulder. He died at the scene.

Investigators identified a potential suspect, who turned himself in to the CHP Monday. Police haven't released the man's name. He has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

Investigators say the victim and the suspect knew each other and had both been in the vehicle when the shooting happened.
