Suspect in Custody After FBI Finds Explosive Chemicals at San Francisco RV Park

SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX) -- Police said Saturday that a 37-year-old man was arrested after FBI agents found chemicals used to make explosives Friday night at a recreational vehicle park in San Francisco.

Kyle Matthew Folsom, a resident at Candlestick RV Park in the 600 block of Gilman Avenue, was taken into custody after an investigation.

Officers responded about 5:10 p.m. Friday to the park, where FBI agents found chemicals used to make explosives and nearby residents were evacuated.

The city's fire department and explosive ordnance disposal units also responded.

"This appears to be an isolated incident and the investigation has been turned over to the San Francisco Police Department," SFPD spokesman Sgt. Michael Andraychak told KPIX in an e-mail.

Folsom was booked into jail on suspicion of unlawful possession of explosives, reckless or malicious possession of destructive device and possession of material to make a destructive device or explosive, police said.
