Suspect Arrested For 8 Graffiti Vandalism Acts In Sonoma, Boyes Hot Springs
SONOMA (CBS SF) -- A Sonoma man was arrested earlier this week on suspicion of committing eight spray-painting graffiti vandalism acts in the Sonoma Valley, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.
Angelo Fischetti, 23, was initially arrested Monday for making threats, being under the influence and violating his probation, Sonoma police Chief Bret Sackett said.
During that investigation, a sheriff's deputy found spray paint and nozzles used by graffiti taggers. Fischetti, who has a history of tagging, admitted he likes to tag, Sackett said.
The deputy also saw items in Fischetti's home and on his property with graffiti tags that also were found in several locations in the Sonoma Valley, including Boyes Hot Springs and the city of Sonoma, according to Sackett.
Fischetti admitted spraying graffiti at those locations using the moniker "Hope" and "Karma," Sackett said.
The sheriff's office's graffiti abatement unit cleaned the majority of the graffiti, he said.
The sheriff's office referred eight graffiti incidents to the Sonoma County District Attorney's Office, Sackett.
Fischetti is being held in Sonoma County Jail and is scheduled to appear in Sonoma County Superior Court on Aug. 27 on the threats and being under the influence charges.
The sheriff's office provides its law enforcement services to the Sonoma Police Department.
