Suspect Arrested In Big Sur For Stabbing Attack That Injured 2

BIG SUR (CBS SF) -- The Monterey County Sheriff's Office on Friday arrested a man in connection with a stabbing in Big Sur.

Deputies responded just after 9 p.m. to a report of two people being stabbed at Willow Creek in Big Sur.

Deputies said the victims were uncooperative but did provide a description of the suspect and the weapon used in the stabbing.

Deputies said they searched the area and located a man, later identified as Scott Andrew Alsip, 28, who matched the victims' description of the suspect and was in possession of a knife that appeared to have blood on it.

Deputies said Alsip admitted to stabbing the two victims but said it was in self-defense.

He was arrested in connection with the stabbing.

The victims were airlifted to area trauma centers.
