Surging Bay Area Gas Prices Approaching $3 Mark Again

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) - Our break from high gas prices may be coming to an end.

The Lundberg Survey finds that the National Average has moved up to $2.33 a gallong, 13 cents more than two weeks ago.

The causes of the increase include crude oil prices and labor issues at refineries.

In the Bay Area, we are seeing a $2.88 per gallon average in San Jose, $2.87 in Oakland and $2.96 in San Francisco, according to gasbuddy.com.

Despite the recent increases, the prices are still about 85 cents less than a year ago.
