Super Shuttle With Passengers Hijacked On Way To Airport In San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Passengers heading to the airport had a rough ride when the van was hijacked by a passenger in San Francisco.
The Super Shuttle bus was picking up riders at a downtown San Francisco hotel when a man without a reservation was able to talk his way on board the bus.
A few blocks into the ride, the operator pulled over on O'Farrell Street near Powell Street to help load luggage for a passenger, and that was when the man drove off with the other passengers on board.
He eventually let the other passengers off a few blocks later.
Police found the van later in the day in Alameda County, but the suspect was nowhere to be found.
Super Shuttle released a statement, saying "We have never had this happen before, so we will be reviewing our procedures to see If there is anything we can do in the future to prevent it from happening again."
