Super Bowl 50 Hiring Event Held For Job Seekers In San Jose

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- Job hunters hoping to find work during Super Bowl 50 got a chance to check out the offerings at an event in San Jose Monday.

Sacred Heard Community Service hosted the hiring event, which began at 1 p.m.

"I have a couple of grandsons who would just be ecstatic if I got a little job, just during the Super Bowl," Irene Flores said at the event.

She was among the hundreds of job seekers that showed up to Monday's event at the Fairmont Hotel.

36 companies were looking for more than 200 full and part time employees.

"Food concessions, housekeeping, facilities maintenance, janitorial, anything associated with Super Bowl 50 they're looking to hire now," Griselda Dominguez of Sacred Heart Community Service said.
