Teacher Who Lived In Sunnyvale, Santa Clara In 1980s, 1990s Accused Of Molestations

SUNNYVALE (CBS SF) – A Sacramento-area teacher who lived in Santa Clara and Sunnyvale nearly two decades ago was arrested on suspicion of child molestation.

On Wednesday, officers from the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety traveled to Roseville to arrest arrested 64-year-old James McNealy Carroll on a $500,000 felony arrest warrant.

According to police, Carroll is accused of six counts of child molestation. The incidents allegedly occurred from the late 1980s through 1997, while Carroll lived in Sunnyvale and Santa Clara.

CBS Sacramento reported that Carroll was an art teacher at the Horizon Charter School in Lincoln, about 30 miles northeast of Sacramento. Police said Carroll was also reportedly involved in youth ministries.

Carroll has been booked into the Santa Clara County Jail. Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact the investigations division of the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety at (408) 730-7120.
