UPDATE: Service Resumes After Substation Fire Shuts Down South Hayward BART Station

HAYWARD (CBS SF) -- BART service has resumed after a fire at an electrical substation shut down the South Hayward station Tuesday evening, the agency said.

Around 8 p.m., BART officials tweeted there was an electrical problem on the track, causing a major delay.

AC Transit bus line 99 was providing alternate service between the Hayward, South Hayward and Union City stations.

At about 9:10 p.m., BART tweeted "the Hayward station is now open for normal train service."
