Stormy Weather Causing All-Day Flight Delays At SFO

(CBS SF) -- Inclement weather will cause delays for people flying into and out of San Francisco International Airport Monday, an airport duty manager said.

Arriving and departing flights at SFO could be delayed by up to 46 minutes in the ground delay program being set up between 9 a.m. and 9 p.m., duty manager Bob Rotiski said.

SFO's parallel runways are only 750 feet apart, so days with reduced visibility require airport officials to implement ground delay programs, reducing the airport's arrival rate, to follow current Federal Aviation Administration safety regulations.

Airport officials encourage travelers to check flight times with their airlines before going to the airport to avoid any inconvenience.
