Storm Showers, Rainy Weather, Even Lightning And Thunder Thursday Afternoon, Clear For Thanksgiving

(KPIX) -- The second in a triple header of weak storms to hit the Bay Area may hit harder than the first, bringing rain and even lightning and thunder to the region by Thursday afternoon.

The North Bay including Sonoma, Napa and Marin Counties got hit first Thursday before noon, with overall system totals of 3/4 inch of rain possible in mountains.  Most urban areas will max out at a third of an inch of rain.  Monterey and San Benito Counties should get precipitation by late afternoon  Thursday.

The third wave of storms is set to hit overnight Friday into Saturday, and that system could be the strongest of the three.  Up to 3 inches are possible in North Bay mountains. The Santa Cruz and Santa Lucia range will likely only get around 1/2 inch from the weekend system.

What will the weather be like for Thanksgiving? The rest of next week looks to be dry.

Despite the storms, reservoir levels continue to fall, though not as precipitously as last month.
