Stolen Life-Size Santa Turns Up On Church Steps Christmas Eve In Carmel Valley

CARMEL VALLEY (CBS SF) -- A life-sized Santa Claus recently stolen from a computer store in Carmel Valley reappeared Christmas Eve at a nearby church, according to sheriff's deputies in Monterey County.

The $300 Christmas decoration was reported stolen Dec. 13 from the front of a store in the first block of Carmel Valley Road, deputies said.

Then on Christmas Eve it was reported that the Santa Claus had been placed on the front steps of a nearby church overnight.

The suspect has already been identified, according to deputies, but the business owner will get to decide whether or not the suspect is prosecuted.
