Southwest Jet Bound For Bay Area Strikes Catering Truck

DENVER (CBS SF) – Passengers were forced to deplane on a Southwest Airlines flight from Denver to the Bay Area after their aircraft struck a catering truck while attempting to take off.

Authorities said the plane, bound for Mineta San Jose International Airport, made contact with the truck as it pushed back from the gate after 6:00 p.m. Mountain Time.

The truck was knocked over in the collision and the driver was taken to the hospital for evaluation.

Passengers on the aircraft were taken off the airplane. Southwest said no passengers were injured and were transferred to other flights.

Officials said the plane has been taken out of service for repairs.
