Sonoma County School District Deemed Safe After Threatening Graffiti

OCCIDENTAL (CBS SF) -- Everyone at a school campus in Occidental is safe after a voluntary lockdown Monday morning, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.

"Threatening graffiti" in a school bathroom at 1935 Bohemian Highway prompted the lockdown, sheriff's officials said in an alert at 10:49 a.m.

Deputies said at 12:39 p.m. that the school was safe.

The school is working with parents and the sheriff's office to resolve the issue.

The district consists of two schools -- Harmony Elementary School and Salmon Creek School -- that are both at the same 56-acre campus for pre-K through eighth grade.
