Flash Flood Watch Issued For Soberanes Fire Burn Area

MONTEREY COUNTY (CBS SF) – A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for the area affected by the Soberanes Fire as rain moves back into the region Thursday, National Weather Service officials said Wednesday morning.

Rain may be heavy over the Loma and Soberanes burn scars.

Officials expect between one and four inches of rain over the highest peaks.

In addition to flash floods, property owners in the area should take action to protect against debris flows, NWS officials said.

Rain will likely affect the Thursday afternoon Bay Area commute and continue into Friday morning.
