Snow Survey Canceled For 1st Time Due To California's Drought

SACRAMENTO (CBS SF) -- For the first time in history, the May snow survey has been canceled due to California's severe drought.

Doug Carlson of the California Department of Water Resources said the survey had been canceled due to the "observed absence of snow."

The survey was scheduled to take place May 1st.

The last survey showed the lowest snow level in recorded history.
