Snoop Dogg Unveils New 'Merry Jane' Website At San Francisco Tech Event

SAN FRANCISCO (KPIX) -- Rapper Snoop Dogg says he may change his name to Snoop Tech as he spoke Monday at the Tech Crunch Disrupt event in San Francisco to unveil a new marijuana website.

For the past few years, Snoop Dogg has spent some of his estimated $135 million fortune helping startups like Philz Coffee, and a marijuana delivery service.

His latest venture unveiled in San Francisco is the website MerryJane.com, which is geared toward helping legitimize the use of pot.

"Merry Jane will be the door to bring people out of the closet. Because so many people are in the closet," Snoop said.

The site will include news about pot, and consumer guides like maps to dispensaries.  It will officially go online next month.
