Snoop Dogg Launches His Own Weed Line 'Leafs By Snoop'

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- 'Bananas', 'Cali Kush', 'Tangerine'... no, they're herbal scents for essential oils. They're just a few of the flower flavors you'll find in Snoop Dogg's new weed line.

Leafs by Snoop launched this week in partnership with Colorado-based marijuana dispensary LivWell, and judging from the branding and packaging, cannabis connoisseurs will find the rapper's dope, pretty dope.

The flowers include 3 strains, and hybrids with names like Lemon Pie, Blueberry Dream, Northern Lights and Purple Bush.

According to the video on the Leafs by Snoop website, Snoop personally selected each strain for their "aroma, taste and bud structure."

His edibles include handmade chocolate bars, peanut butter gems, gummies, drops and fruit juice.

This is the first time a major star has lent their name to a cannabis line, but according to The Cannabist, Snoop doesn't actually own the company because he isn't a Colorado resident. He definitely "oversaw its formation."

"Since I've been at the forefront of this movement for over 20 years now, I'm a master of marijuana," Snoop said. "Leafs By Snoop is truly the first mainstream cannabis brand in the world and proud to be a pioneer."

Snoop has been arrested and cited for marijuana possession several times since the 80s, and is committed to legalizing its use. Last September, he unveiled his website devoted to cannabis culture, Merry Jane in San Francisco at the Disrupt SF conference.
