Smoking Train Briefly Closes SF Muni West Portal Station

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- The West Portal Muni station was cleared, and normal Muni service restored, following an incident involving a disabled light-rail vehicle Friday afternoon, according to San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency spokesman Paul Rose.

Heavy smoke was seen coming from the light-rail vehicle around 3:34 p.m., according to the San Francisco Fire Department.

There were no reports of injuries.

The scene was cleared at 4:05 p.m.
