Small Earthquake Shakes Up South Bay

SAN JOSE (CBS SF) -- A small 2.6-magnitute earthquake shook an area near San Jose in Santa Clara County early Thursday morning, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

The temblor occurred at 12:24 a.m. about 5 miles east-southeast of East Foothills and 9 miles east of San Jose.

The earthquake had a depth of about 4.2 miles, according to the USGS.
