Skier Dies From Fall At Squaw Valley

RENO (CBS/AP) -- Authorities say a woman has died after injuring herself in a fall while skiing in Squaw Valley.

Squaw Valley/Alpine Meadows resort says 62-year-old Elizabeth S. Danel fell while skiing in the Headwall area on Saturday. She slid through a stand of trees, causing several injuries.

The resort says Danel was wearing a helmet. Ski patrol says she was unconscious and unresponsive when they arrived on scene.

They began CPR but Danel was pronounced dead shortly before 2:30 p.m.
