Eastbound I-580 Closed Down In San Leandro After Fiery Fatal Collision

SAN LEANDRO (CBS SF) -- The California Highway Patrol Friday morning has issued a Sig-alert following a fatal crash on Interstate Highway 580 in San Leandro.

The crash occurred around 4:20 a.m. on eastbound Interstate Highway 580 near the 164th Avenue off-ramp, CHP officers said.

All eastbound lanes of the highway are blocked.

There were reportedly at least two vehicles involved in the crash, and at least one of the vehicles overturned and caught fire, officers said.

Officers have not said when the highway may reopen.
