SideCar Enters Medical Marijuana Delivery Business In San Francisco

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) – Ridesharing service SideCar announced this week that it would offer medical marijuana delivery to customers in San Francisco.

According to CNET, SideCar promises to deliver marijuana to people's homes within one hour of ordering.

"SideCar is able to power the on-demand economy, and medical marijuana is an example of all kinds of products we can deliver," company CEO Sunil Paul told the website.

Customers would be restricted to ordering one ounce. All of the marijuana delivery drivers are patients who are legally allowed to carry medical marijuana.

The ridesharing company is partnering with medical marijuana delivery startup Meadow Care to provide the service.

It is unclear if Sidecar's would expand medical marijuana delivery to other cities.
