Occupants Of 2 Vehicles Involved In Shootout Near Watsonville Shopping Center

WATSONVILLE (CBS SF) -- The occupants of two vehicles were involved in a shootout near a Watsonville shopping center Saturday, police said.

At about 11:25 p.m., officers received a report of a shooting near the Crossroads Shopping Center located in the 1900 block of Main Street, police said.

Witnesses to the shooting told officers there was an argument between two groups of people inside two different vehicles and that a single gunshot was fired from one of the vehicles, striking the other vehicle, police said.

Both vehicles then sped away from the area before officers arrived, according to police.

Police have not determined whether anyone was struck by the gunshot and are continuing to investigate the incident.
