Shooting Victim Dies After Being Left Outside Watsonville Emergency Room

WATSONVILLE (CBS SF) -- Investigators are seeking information from the public regarding a homicide in Watsonville early Sunday morning that may have been gang-related, police said.

At about 3:15 a.m., Watsonville police officers were notified that three males had driven up to the emergency room entrance at Watsonville Community Hospital and dropped off a male victim suffering from a single gunshot wound, police said.

The victim, later identified as Ryan Michael Dean, died of his injuries at the hospital, according to police.

Officers said that the three unidentified males dropped Dean at the emergency room entrance and did not provide any information before fleeing in their vehicle.

Watsonville police detectives are investigating the homicide as gang-related.
