UPDATE: Shooting In Fremont Neighborhood Injures 1; Police Seeking 2 Suspects

FREMONT (CBS SF) -- A person was shot and injured in a Fremont neighborhood Wednesday afternoon.

Fremont police first reported the shooting in a Twitter post at 2:44 p.m. urging residents to avoid the area of Paseo Padre Pkwy. and Warwick Road.

Officers responded to the area after receiving the call of a shooting and police said the caller was taking the victim to a local trauma center.

Investigators later confirmed the shooting occurred on Locke Ct. just west of the Alameda Creek Trail in the city's Northgate neighborhood. Two suspects were outstanding and police said both are believed to have fled the city.

This appeared to have been an isolated incident and the victim was expected to survive, police said.
