Suspect at Large Following Fatal Shooting at People's Park in Berkeley

BERKELEY (CBS SF) -- A man died after he was shot at People's Park in Berkeley Friday afternoon, University of California at Berkeley police said.

City of Berkeley and university officers responded at 2:40 p.m. to the park at 2556 Haste St. to investigate a shooting.

Officers found out that the victim was shot by a male suspect who left the area in a car.

Police said the victim was taken to a hospital where he died.

Police believe the shooting was not a random act and that neither person is affiliated with the university.

Anyone with more information is asked to get in touch with police as soon as possible, police said.
