Man Injured, Suspect At Large In Dolores Park Shooting
SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A man was injured in a shooting at Mission Dolores Park in San Francisco that prompted a large police response in the area on Sunday evening, police said.
The shooting happened near Church St. and 18th St. in the Mission Dolores area. Police said a man was found suffering gunshot wounds at the scene and was taken to a hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
A staircase at the top of Dolores Park was cordoned off by police as they investigated the shooting.

A number of witnesses told KPIX 5 that they heard at least two gunshots. A man in a red sweatshirt who appeared to be limping was put in handcuffs and put into the back of a police car, but it wasn't clear early Sunday evening who the man was or what his role in the shooting was.
"Heard a few gun shots go off, they sounded like fireworks at first, I didn't really know how to react, but then I saw a bunch of people running, so there was obviously something going on," said Marlon Monge of San Carlos, who was at the park during the shooting.
According to San Francisco District 8 Supervisor Rafael Mandelman, there was already a heightened police presence at the park for Sunday's Carnaval Parade. Mandelman said in a tweet that the shooting occurred earlier in the afternoon on Sunday.
I have been in contact with Captain Caltagirone of Mission Station about the shooting earlier this afternoon in Dolores Park. SFPD is currently on the scene and investigating.

"Just people having a picnic or just enjoying their lives, and it's kind of shocking to hear that there was just a shooting today," said Patrick Norton, who has lived near Dolores Park since the early 1990's.
Police are searching for a suspect, but they said they have no suspect description at this time.
