Sheriffs Respond With Guns Drawn To Reports Of Possible Gunfire At Marin Civic Center
SAN RAFAEL (CBS SF) - Marin Sheriff responded to reports of possible gunfire at the Marin Civic Center in San Rafael, but a backfiring car appears to be responsible for the panic.

A Sheriffs spokesperson told KCBS the noise was likely a car backfiring in a tunnel area creating a loud echo that set off a panic.
Officers were searched the facility but gave the all-clear after a room-by-room search.
