Sheriff's Chopper Crew Recovers Body Floating In Surf At Jenner Beach

SONOMA (CBS SF) -- Sheriff's deputies and a helicopter crew recovered a body found in the surf line at a beach in Sonoma County Saturday afternoon, according to the Sonoma County Sheriff's Office.

Around 1:50 p.m., the sheriff's office helicopter, Henry 1, responded to a report of a possible body in the surf at Jenner Beach.

Flight crews saw the decedent in the surf line and landed the aircraft on the beach, according to sheriff's officials.

Emergency personnel placed the body in a rescue basket and the helicopter flew the body to sheriff's deputies waiting on state Highway 1.

The body was transported in a vehicle to the Sonoma County coroner's office, sheriff's officials said.

No further information was immediately available.
