Man Found Shot Dead In San Francisco's Excelsior District

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- A man was shot and killed in San Francisco's Excelsior District early Saturday morning, a police spokesman said.

Officers responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Mission Street and Geneva Avenue around 2:45 a.m., Officer Albie Esparza said.

Arriving officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body and he was pronounced dead at the scene, Esparza said.

A suspect was seen fleeing the area but no description was immediately available, according to Esparza.
