SFPD ID Motorcyclist Who Allegedly Struck, Critically Injured Child

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- Police have identified a motorcyclist who was arrested after he allegedly struck and injured a child in San Francisco's Mission District Saturday afternoon.

Nelson Burgos, a 49-year-old man from San Francisco, allegedly ran a stop sign at 25th and Folsom streets at 4:22 p.m. Saturday, striking an 8-year-old girl in the crosswalk.

The victim, who police initially said was 9 years old, suffered a life-threatening injury and remains in the hospital.

Burgos was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI, hit-and-run, reckless driving and several traffic infractions.
