SF Zoo, Weather Channel To Offer Election Stress Relief

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- You say you've reached election sensory overload when it comes Hillary and Donald?

Why don't you take a few moments away from the rhetorical barrage by joining "Hunter" and "Tenzing".

The San Francisco Zoo is taking a unique approach to Election Day by offering a livestream from its Red Panda exhibit starting at 10 a.m. PST. to help those who are feeling particularly stressed out and suffering from severe election fatigue.

Red pandas are endangered and found in mountain forests in parts of China, Bhutan, Nepal, Myanmar, and India. They feed mainly on young leaves and shoots of bamboo, but are best known for the heartwarming facial expressions.

They are also known as firefoxes and so the stream will be done in conjunction with Mozilla -- the San Francisco-based creator of the Firefox browser.

Meanwhile, if you are looking for a relief later in the day, tune into The Weather Channel which will begin airing "Escape the Election" programming starting at 3 p.m. EST.

"It's definitely counterprogramming," said David Clark, president of The Weather Channel, in a release. "We asked ourselves, 'How are we feeling about this election? How are our friends and relatives feeling?...So we went out and found nine hours of the most calming video: literally, babbling brooks."

The nature footage -- the Rockies, Yellowstone, whitewater rapids -- will be teamed up with smooth jazz to create an election stress soothing alternative to the political pundits and wall-to-wall election results coverage offered by other networks and local television stations.
