SF Mayor Lee Congratulates 49ers For An "Amazing Last Season At Candlestick"

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee applauded the efforts of the San Francisco 49ers team Sunday evening despite their defeat in the final game of the 2013-14 season at the NFC Championship game against the Seattle Seahawks.

The 49ers lost with a final score of 17-23 against the Seahawks.

"We would have liked a different outcome, but we are grateful for the team's amazing last season at Candlestick Park this year that will forever be remembered for the thrills and excitement on the field from the first game to the last," Lee said in a statement following the big game.

The 49ers will kick-off the 2014-2015 season in the fall at the new Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara.
