Mayor Ed Lee Announces Better Service And New Buses For SF Muni

SAN FRANCISCO (CBS SF) -- San Francisco mayor Ed Lee announced a number of improvements to the Municipal Transportation Agency transit service as part of the "Muni Forward" initiative.

Beginning on Sept. 26, the improvements include increased frequency on nearly a dozen Muni routes and replacing some smaller buses with new buses along the heaviest traveled routes.

Several routes will have improved travel times by adding connections to more destinations and transit stations.

"Our Muni Forward initiative is the most significant service improvement in decades, and riders will see better service, reliability and cleanliness as a result," Lee said in statement issued Friday.
