Severe Cockroach Infestation Closes Famed SF Pizza Shop

SAN FRANCISCO (KCBS) -- A popular pizza shop by the Powell Street cable car turnaround in San Francisco was closed by the health department.

The San Francisco Chronicle reported that Blondie's Pizza was shutdown because of a severe cockroach infestation.

Health officials tell the paper that most restaurants in San Francisco tend to take care of such issues in a matter of days.

The restaurant, which is situated in an area brimming with tourist traffic, was closed Monday with a health score of 74.
