Former Sebastopol Mayor Arrested on Suspicion of Sexual Assault Against a Minor

SEBASTOPOL (CBS SF) -- On Saturday morning, Sebastopol police arrested the city's former mayor, Robert Jacob, on suspicion of sexual assault against a teen, age 14 or 15, as well as other sexual crimes involving a minor or minors.

According to police, the alleged crimes took place in Sebastopol between Dec. 2019 and March 2021.

Jacob was taken to the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility and is being held without bail.

Jacob founded a medical marijuana dispensary, Peace in Medicine, in Sebastopol in 2007 and was elected to the city council in 2012. The council appointed him mayor in 2013.
