Seahawks Player Crashes Corvette Near Training Facility

RENTON, Wash. (CBS SF) -- A member of the Seattle Seahawks crashed his car near the Seahawks training facility, according to published reports.

Seahawks running back Fred Jackson was driving a black Corvette that crashed due to high speed, police said.

TMZ Sports earlier reported that the teammates Jackson, and Marshawn Lynch were racing down a public street after leaving practice at the Virginia Mason Athletic Center in Renton, Lynch in a red Dodge Charger and Jackson in a black Corvette.

But, police reported finding no evidence of a street race.

Reporters for 710 Sports Seattle and the Seattle Times each tweeted that Jackson was behind the wheel of the Corvette that crashed into a stop sign.

Jackson was reportedly uninjured in the crash, according to team sources cited by Seattle Times reporter Bob Condotta.

The Seahawks are two days away from playing the San Francisco 49ers at Levi's Stadium, an early season showdown between two 2-4 teams.
