Santa Rosa Woman Said She Was Sexually Assaulted, Held Against Her Will For 3 Weeks
SANTA ROSA (KPIX 5) – A North Bay woman said she was held against her will for three weeks and was brutally assaulted, before she was able to escape on Wednesday.
According to sheriff's deputies, a 22-year-old woman said the kidnapping occurred three weeks ago in the Roseland area of Santa Rosa. The woman said she was taken at gunpoint and held prisoner in a home on the 3500 block of Stony Point Road.
During that time, she said she was beaten and sexually abused. Detectives said she had injuries consistent with such an ordeal.
The woman said she was able to escape the home Wednesday when she noticed her captors had left a door open. She traveled to the Petaluma Police Department, 15 miles away.
Based on the woman's story, a swat team was sent to the home Thursday. A neighbor who did not want to be identified told KPIX 5 that officers handcuffed several men and one woman at the scene.
"That surprises me. You know, that's scary," the neighbor said.
Jonathan Cohen, who also lives nearby, was also surprised by the police raid. "I can't even imagine what it would be like to be captive for a week, but three weeks?" Cohen said. "Unbelievable, unimaginable."
