Santa Rosa Police Search Neighborhoods For Dozens With Outstanding Arrest Warrants

SANTA ROSA (CBS SF) -- Santa Rosa police fanned out into several neighborhoods Saturday, in search of dozens with outstanding arrest warrants for either DUI or having suspended licenses.

Police department officials report that officers made four arrests, in which cases the offenders either failed to show up for a court date, or violated the terms of their probation in an outstanding DUI case.

Department officials report that those arrested with outstanding warrants often face additional jail time for failing to appear in court or for violating probation.

Funding for Saturday's operation was provided by a grant from the state Office of Traffic Safety, through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
