Santa Clara University Debuts New Film About Campus Sexual Assaults; May Become Required Viewing
SANTA CLARA (KCBS) — A new film about sexual assault will debut at Santa Clara University on Friday and it may become required viewing for all incoming freshmen.

"Can't Thread a Moving Needle" is a compilation of real stories about college students whose lives have been impacted by sexual assault.It's an effort to raise awareness and put an end to sexual violence on college campuses and to promote and educate students about healthy relationships
The hour-long film, written and produced Santa Clara University theater professor Barbara Fraser, includes interviews with both rape survivors and perpetrators.
"It talks about the need to see people as people—not as objects—and that sex is not something to be won. It's not a competition; it's something that should be shared as intimate act," Fraser told KCBS. "It makes people realize there really is no need to be a bystander—for everybody to take responsibility for each other, as well as themselves."
"Can't Thread a Moving Needle" originally began as play that incoming freshman were required to see starting in 2007.
All the departments have been asked to show the movie as part of their curriculum.
