San Ramon Man Accused Of Stealing $200,000 From Youth Football League

SAN RAMON -- A former treasurer of a San Ramon-based youth football league was arrested Wednesday morning for allegedly embezzling more than $200,000 from the league during his tenure, according to police.

 Lynwood Peyton, 64, of San Ramon, was arrested at about 9 a.m. Wednesday in the parking lot of an apartment complex at 3300 Promontory Way, San Ramon police said.
 Peyton was arrested on suspicion of embezzlement that occurred while he served as Diablo Valley Youth Football League's treasurer between 2007 and 2014.
 Police said he was identified as a suspect following forensic analysis of his financial records along with the league's funds.
 He was booked into the Martinez Detention Facility and is being held on $50,000 bail.
