San Rafael Police Arrest Suspect For Sex-Trafficking Who Claims He's Bay Area Rapper 'Luzion'

SAN RAFAEL (CBS SF) -- A traffic stop early Saturday morning led to the arrest of a local Bay Area rap artist on suspicion of trafficking a minor for sexual exploitation, San Rafael police said.

On Saturday at around 1 a.m., San Rafael officers stopped a vehicle for a moving and equipment violation, police said.

During the stop, police said officers noticed a juvenile girl in the vehicle with an older man and began to investigate why she was in the car with him.

The investigation determined the girl was being sexually exploited and trafficked, police said.

Officers arrested the man, identified as Dwayne Brian Furgeson, 31, of San Leandro, on suspicion of pimping, pandering and human trafficking a minor for sexual exploitation.

Furgeson reportedly identified himself to police as a Bay Area rap artist known as "Luzion."

Police said Furgeson brought the girl from the Oakland area to San Rafael roughly three weeks ago to use her as a prostitute and said she was being exploited on the Internet as well.

The girl was reunited with her family and referred to advocacy organizations, police said.

Anyone with information about the incident or other human trafficking cases is asked to call San Rafael police at (415) 485-3000 or Crime Stoppers at (800) 222-TIPS (8477). Callers can remain anonymous.
